Where can I serve and minister to others in my community?
The areas of service are up to you and are a function of where you feel you are being called. It might be at your service club, sports team, hospital, fire department, neighborhood, where you work or an extension of the outreach activities of your church. The book Caring Directions will help you realize just how many opportunities are available.
Won’t it be more difficult to serve as a Community Chaplain in some places compared to others?
In Caring Directions we have established three levels of complexity: Simple, Moderately Complex and Complex. We have identified each area with one of three symbols S, M or C to help the reader judge for themselves.
What do I do if I am not wanted or appreciated in the places where I try to minister to others?
Ask the Lord to reveal to you how to make progress in this mission field. Review the learning materials and be patient. In the end, if you feel blocked, shake the dust off your feet and return to Caring Directions for additional ideas and inspiration.
