No, membership is not required for you to purchase the Empowerment kit or any of the materials that are also sold separately.

What are the benefits of membership?
Becoming a member of Community Chaplains of America allows you to be officially commissioned and recognized as a spiritual caregiver in your community. Following the commissioning process, and your purchase of a Membership Level, you will benefit from additional materials and services plus discussion boards, prayer support and chaplain contacts.

Do I have to become a member after I purchase and study the Empowerment Kit materials?
Membership is not mandatory but we encourage you to study and use the materials to be effective in whatever level of spiritual caregiving you are comfortable providing in your community.

Can I become a member at a later date?
Yes, you can complete your study of the Empowerment Kit materials at a pace you are comfortable with as long as you proceed to the membership stage within one year of receiving the kit. This rule is necessary since we intend to update our materials and you need to be reasonably current with your understanding of the recommended procedures and best practices.

What do I have to do to renew my membership each year?
You will receive email notification of membership renewal terms, costs and benefits, 90 days in advance of your renewal date unless there are reasons you are not in good standing with your commissioning church or Community Chaplains of America. These reasons might include being convicted of a felony, listing on a sex offenders list or unresolved complaints concerning your ministry.
