Our Commitment To Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. At Community Chaplains of America, we value our visitors’ privacy and have made it our policy to provide online content that requires minimal collection of information.


How We Collect Information

The following are some of the ways in which a visitor may provide information to us on-line and how we may use that information.

Our web servers automatically recognize a visitor’s IP address and record the source IP address of all users.

Information Actively Provided by Our Customers

We do not require visitors to register or provide any information before entering our web site. However, we do require you register an account with Community Chaplains of America before any purchases are made. This registration requires visitors to provide personally identifiable information about themselves. Community Chaplains of America will use the information for the purpose the information was provided.

For example:

Questions: On the Contact Us page our visitors can submit comments or ask questions. The personally identifiable information that we collect is and associated with questions in order to respond to those questions.

Membership: In order to complete the membership process we need to collect information about you, your denomination, your church and perhaps, if applicable, where you work. This data is gathered so that we can receive confirmation from your Pastor as to your gifts for this work. Further we desire that this site act as a community of Chaplains communicating back and forth with each other, learning from each other's challenges and strategies for ministry. To do this we request that each candidate for Community Chaplaincy fill out a profile that provides contact information and other data that will help you connect with other chaplains. This data will never be sold or shared with people outside Community Chaplains of America without your express permission except for necessary lookups to validate your status as a Community Chaplain.  

E-mail Newsletters: If you register to receive e-mail newsletters or updates in the future by providing your e-mail address. Any e-mail you receive from Community Chaplains of America will allow you to change your preference or "unsubscribe" from this informational service at any time. At the bottom of each promotional email, there is a link stating "Click here to change or remove your subscription". Clicking that link will lead to a page where you can immediately remove your subscription.

Online Catalog: Information is collected when you visit Community Chaplains on-line and choose to make a purchase or register with our membership service. This information is required to process and confirm your order and is retained to provide you with the ability to maintain an on-line order history. If you have made a purchase or registered with our Membership Service, we may contact you via e-mail to determine if you are interested in receiving newsletters and selected information about Community Chaplains via e-mail in the future. If you specifically agree to receive these contacts, we will send you newsletters from time to time. Any e-mail you receive from us will allow you to change your preference or "unsubscribe" from this informational service at any time. Aggregate Information

Aggregate information about which pages visitors access or visit is only used for internal review as we continue to improve our web site. This information is not sold to or shared with other organizations for commercial purposes. We do not rent, sell, or share e-mail addresses with any other company or organization. Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us on-line in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.


How You Can Access Or Correct Your Information

You may alter your personally identifiable information on the Community Chaplains web site. To protect your privacy and security, this option is only available by logging into the site with your user name and password and following the Profile and Edit Profile menu options at the top of the page.

Our policy is to link only to other sites which are appropriate for visitors to our web site. However, content on web sites can change quickly, so we cannot always guarantee the appropriateness of the content of sites we link to.
