In order to become a commissioned Community Chaplain, you will need to complete the steps below. Please understand the steps below are presented for your informational purposes only. Once you purchase a Community Chaplain Empowerment Kit and start the membership process, each step will be clearly laid out for you.
Step One:
- Order the Community Chaplain Empowerment Kit
- Once you receive your Empowerment Kit, follow the steps as outlined in the Quick Start Guide.
- Read the Community Chaplains Handbook and the other kit materials at least twice.
- Listen to all ten audio CDs in the Empowerment Audio Series at least five times.
- Complete the Training Exercises and Learning Activities in the Community Chaplain Training Workbook.
Step Two:
- Log back on to www.chaplain.org and visit the Membership Progress page to
- confirm your acceptance of our Mission Statement
- confirm your acceptance of our Statement of Faith
- certify that you have completed at least 84 hours of study.
Step Three:
- From the Membership Progress page, send a request to your church pastor for commissioning. He will need to log on to www.chaplain.org and visit the Begin The Process page to confirm that you are being commissioned by your church to serve as a Community Chaplain.
- Once this step is completed, you can proceed to choose from two levels of membership and enjoy the ongoing benefits of this membership as long as you remain in good standing.
