Community Chaplains of America:

The Community Chaplains of America program has been developed to empower individual caregivers to serve the emotional, physical, spiritual, and personal needs of people in the communities where they live. The program was launched as a beta test in June 2007 in cooperation with the North American Missions Board (NAMB) based in Atlanta, GA and Crossroads Fellowship in Raleigh, NC. More

Corporate Chaplains of America:

The concept of community chaplaincy is not new and comes from years of experience and knowledge gained from providing a decade of genuine caring in the workplace through the work of Corporate Chaplains of America. Founded in 1996 by President, Mark Cress, the organization employs full time long term career chaplains who combine workplace experience with professional chaplain training. More

Community Chaplain Empowerment Kit:

The Community Chaplain Empowerment Kit is available to all potential Community Chaplains. The kit contains a Community Chaplain Handbook and a Community Chaplain Training Workbook plus audio and visual learning materials to prepare each person for spiritual caregiving in their community. It is requested that at least 84 hours of study be allocated to these materials before a person proceeds to request commissioning from their church. More

Churches:

The involvement of churches and church pastors is a very significant step in this program. Churches provide the catalyst for many of their members to serve in their communities and the environment for studying and applying the ministry materials that we have developed. Pastors, or leaders of the church, are the ones who officially commission each Community Chaplain. More

Commissioning:

Before each person is eligible for membership in Community Chaplains of America, they must receive commissioning from their church. This process serves as a confirmation of the person’s character and desire to minister to others on behalf of their church. It also creates an environment for support and affirmation from other believers. See Commissioning Requirements.

Membership Levels:

There are two levels of membership available to commissioned Community Chaplains. The Gold level of membership includes all of the materials and benefits of the Silver level and both kits are intended to provide each member with additional resources to serve the spiritual needs of people in their communities.
