Ministry to Islamic Persons
Seminar Presenter: NAMB Apologetics & Interfaith Evangelism Staff
The sessions will offer an introduction to Islamic faith and practice. The participant will gain a greater appreciation of how to minister to Muslims in various chaplaincy settings.
10 CCE credit hours are available for participants attending all sessions on this topic.
Volunteer Community Chaplaincy
Seminar Presenter: Chris Hobgood (Ridgecrest), Lynn Sayne (Glorietta), Corporate Chaplains of America
These sessions will provide an orientation to developing ministry endeavors by the organization Community Chaplains of America, a division of Corporate Chaplains of America. Participants will be introduced to ideas about how they can envision their community as a mission field and become involved in a strategy to develop significant community ministry opportunities through school systems, sports leagues, small businesses and other neighborhood programs.
Individual Crisis Intervention & Peer Support: Critical Incident Stress Management
Seminar Presenter: Ricky Thrasher, Chaplaincy, Georgia Baptist State Convention (both locations)
Crisis interventions are typically done individually (one-on-one) or in groups. These sessions are designed to teach participants the fundamentals of, and a specific protocol for, individual intervention. The audience for this class includes peer support personnel without formal training in mental health who desire to increase their knowledge of individual (one-on-one) crisis intervention techniques.
13 CCE credit hours are available for participants attending all sessions on this topic.

A member of the NAMB Chaplaincy Evangelism Team will give a brief overview of Southern Baptist chaplaincy, including endorsement procedures. Attendees can participate in a question and answer (Q & A) dialogue to learn how they can become more involved or support chaplaincy ministries.
